A US based producer of commodity lumber and engineered wood products has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Sawmill Operations Superintendent at a new facility located near Flagstaff, Arizona.

Northern Arizona has the largest Ponderosa Pine forests in the world.  The company implements sustainable forestry practices for a healthier ecosystem which reduces the risks of catastrophic wildfires in dry climate conditions.

With the largest high-capacity sawmill and remanufacturing operations using state-of-the-art equipment, the company produces commodity lumber grades/sizes (1”x4” through 1”x12” / 6’ to 16’) and engineered wood products including edge-glued and finger-jointed boards and pattern stock.

The Sawmill Operations Superintendent will oversee and manage the day-to-day activities of the sawmill facility.  The position requires an in-depth understanding of lumber processing, machinery, safety protocols and team leadership.  Primary candidate qualifications include:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a sawmill or similar manufacturing environment
  • In-depth knowledge of sawmill operations, equipment, and lumber processing
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
