A US based producer of commodity lumber and engineered wood products has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Dry-End Superintendent at a new facility located near Flagstaff, Arizona.
Northern Arizona has the largest Ponderosa Pine forests in the world. The company implements sustainable forestry practices for a healthier ecosystem which reduces the risks of catastrophic wildfires in dry climate conditions.
With the largest high-capacity sawmill and remanufacturing operations using state-of-the-art equipment, the company produces commodity lumber grades/sizes (1”x4” through 1”x12” / 6’ to 16’) and engineered wood products including edge-glued and finger-jointed boards and pattern stock.
The Dry-End Superintendent will oversee and manage the day-to-day activities of the Planer Mill and Engineered Wood Products plant. The position requires an in-depth understanding of lumber finishing including value-added (remanufacturing) production; safety protocols; equipment training; and team leadership. Primary candidate qualifications:
- Successful career history in lumber finishing supervision including experience lumber remanufacturing and/or engineered wood products production
- Knowledge and application of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting
- Competent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-function teams including sales / marketing
